a. Comment: DOE2Parm keeps track of all the files you use for doing the parametric analyses for each project.
b. However, it does not include the original Excel spreadsheet you use to create the parametric text file. You need to keep track of that yourself.
i. Hint 1: The MS Excel file being used is "Inptool-ResV12.xls."
c. Hint 2: For convenience, we have placed it in the directory:
\EGParam-MR\Projects\MR-parmnv12
4. In the top box, type a name like "MR-parm12"
5. Browse to find the weather file.
Hint: it is the "cairo" file in the subdirectory: \EGParam-MR\Weather
6. Browse to find the current DOE-2 input file for Mohamed Ramadan.
Hint 1: it is the "MR-parmnv12.inp" file in the directory: \EGParam-MR\Projects\MR-parmnv12\inputs
Hint 2: you don't need to type the input, just find the file and click on it.
Hint 3: current versions of the Mohamed Ramadan DOE-2 input files use 3 "include" files.
i. These need to be located in the same directory from which the DOE-2 runs are started.
ii. The proper directory for DOE2Parm is: \EGParam-MR\
iii. The 3 include files are already located in this directory.
iv. If they are not located there, the program will not work.
7. Browse to find the current Parametric file for the runs you want to do.
Hint 1: These are the parametric "text files" that you create by copying the rows from the Excel Spreadsheet.
Hint 2: these files are located in the directory: \EGParam-MR\ Projects\MR-parmnv12\Paras
Hint 3: "Rooftest3.txt" will run about 8 DOE-2 runs showing the Mohamed Ramadan floor as a middle floor, then as 7 variations as a top floor with a roof.
8. Browse to find the current Parametric AWK file for the runs you want to do.
Hint 1: this will be in the directory: \EGParam-MR\ Projects\MR-parmnv12\AWK-UTIL
Hint 2: this will be the "parainpt" AWK file.
9. Browse to find the current Parametric OUTPUT AWK file for the runs you want to do.
Hint 1: this will be in the directory: \EGParam-MR\Projects\MR-parmnv12\AWK-UTIL
Hint 2: this will be the "bepu" AWK file.
10. Click OK, and the files will be arranged and tracked for you.
11. To switch and of the files in the project, click the "SW" button in the menu at the top of the DOE2Parm window.
12. To view and edit the Input file, click the "I" button in the menu at the top of the DOE2Parm window.
13. To view and edit the Output file, click the "O" button in the menu at the top of the DOE2Parm window.
14. To run one or more DOE-2 simulations, using the currently selected files, click the "GO" button in the menu at the top of the DOE2Parm window.
15. If there are errors and the DOE-2 simulations are not completed, you may view the Errors in the BDL file by clicking on the "o BDL" button.
Hint 1: Corrections must be made to the INPUT file, not to the BDL file.
Hint 2: If the runs are successful, but you still want to look at the BDL file, the file may be too bid to view within the DOE2Parm window. Then, you must directly view the current "temp.out" file, which will show the latest BDL. This is located in the \EGParam-MR directory.
